Wellness Services
Do you feel exhaustively connected to your cell phone, computer or couch? Do you feel stressed? Do you feel depleted or restless all the time? Maybe try shinrin-yoku, aka forest bathing…
Origins
Forest bathing originated in Japan in the 1980’s as a therapeutic practice of immersing oneself in nature. It developed in response to digital overload and growing stress.
Benefits
It is a holistic practice that reconnects humans with nature. It is a research-based practice aimed and purposed in promoting improved mental, physical and disease prevention health. When practiced, studies have shown that forest bathing reduces stress, boosts mood, enhances creativity, improves focus, strengthens and promotes relaxation. It helps in restoring balance and overall well-being.

Forest bathing is not the same as exercising in nature. It is a more intentional, holistic experience with nature by way of our senses. For those who find running or hiking too hard on the joints, or the movement of yoga challenging, shinrin-yoku (forest bathing) may be a great effective alternative practice, yet still unique by way of its immersive sensory intention with nature.
